In our latest healthcare feature, we continue our conversation with Dr. Nithiyaa Devindaran, a preventive and lifestyle medicine physician, entrepreneur, and Medical Director at Klinik Medveon. With a career dedicated to transforming the way people think about health, Dr. Nithiyaa advocates for a proactive approach that goes beyond treating disease to understanding the interconnected role of lifestyle, nutrition, hormonal health, and overall wellbeing.
In this conversation, we delve deeper into her perspective on health, longevity, and the importance of caring for the whole person rather than addressing individual health concerns in isolation. Drawing from her experience in preventive and lifestyle medicine, Dr. Nithiyaa shares her insights, experiences, and vision for a future where prevention becomes an integral part of how we approach healthcare.
With that perspective in mind, we spoke with Dr. Nithiyaa to explore her approach to preventive healthcare, longevity, hormonal health, and the everyday choices that can shape long-term wellbeing. Here, she shares her insights in her own words.
Beyond the Questions: A Conversation With a preventive and lifestyle medicine expert
ExpertVerse: What inspired your transition from general practice and aesthetics into longevity and preventive medicine?
Dr. Nithiyaa: “My own journey has been an evolution. While treating acute issues and focusing on aesthetics taught me precision and patient care, I realized we were often putting temporary band-aids on deeper physiological imbalances. True wellness comes from understanding the body years before disease manifests. Shifting toward longevity medicine allows me to help patients optimize their cellular health, balance their hormones, and truly thrive rather than just survive.”
ExpertVerse: You hold an extensive array of international qualifications, from your MBBS and LCP to dermatological training from Cardiff. How do these diverse credentials enhance your daily clinical practice?
Dr. Nithiyaa: “Medicine is not one-dimensional. Skin health reflects internal metabolic and hormonal status; aesthetic medicine requires an understanding of structural integrity; and integrative health bridges the gap between mind and body. Having these varied qualifications allows me to look at a patient holistically. I don’t just treat a skin concern or a hormonal shift in isolation—I connect the dots across all systems.”
ExpertVerse: Hormonal health is a major pillar of your practice. Why do you believe modern medicine often overlooks this crucial aspect for women?
Dr. Nithiyaa: “For too long, women’s hormonal fluctuations—through perimenopause, menopause, or conditions like endometriosis—have been normalized as something to simply ‘push through.’ Women’s bodies give subtle signals every single day. When we fail to listen or properly support hormonal balance, it impacts metabolic health, energy, and aging. Education and early intervention change everything.”
ExpertVerse: What role do you see biohacking and energy medicine playing alongside traditional clinical practices?
Dr. Nithiyaa: “When backed by science, biohacking and functional health tools offer incredible ways to fine-tune our biology. Combined with energy healing, meditation, and grounding work, they address the mental and energetic stressors that physical medicine alone cannot always touch. Balance requires nurturing the physical, mental, and energetic dimensions of a person.”
ExpertVerse: What is your ultimate future goal for Klinik Medveon and your broader mission in the digital and healthcare space?
Dr. Nithiyaa: “My goal is to continue scaling our impact—helping individuals take absolute ownership of their health narratives and transforming healthcare through personalized, preventive and digitally connected medicine, while empowering every woman to understand her body, prevent disease, optimize her health and age with vitality.”

From the Questions She Hears Most
Some of the most meaningful insights come from the questions women bring into the consultation room. Dr. Nithiyaa shares a selection of the questions she encounters most frequently in her practice, along with her perspective on each.
“I eat well and exercise, so why am I still exhausted and foggy?”
Dr. Nithiyaa: I hear this from so many women. They tell me, “Doctor, I’m doing everything right, but I still don’t feel like myself.” During perimenopause, changing hormones can affect energy, sleep, mood and concentration. A detailed hormonal screening with personalized medication including supplementation & lifestyle changes needs to be done.
“Is brain fog just part of getting older?”
Dr. Nithiyaa: Not necessarily. Hormonal changes can contribute significantly to brain fog, but I also look at sleep, stress, nutrition, thyroid health and metabolic health. My approach is to understand why you are experiencing it rather than simply telling you to live with it.
“Why has intimacy suddenly become uncomfortable?”
Dr. Nithiyaa: This is something women often feel embarrassed to talk about, but there is absolutely no shame in discussing it. Lower oestrogen during perimenopause and menopause can cause vaginal dryness, sensitivity and discomfort during intimacy. It is common, but it is not something you simply have to tolerate. There are safe and personalised ways we can address it.
“Why am I gaining weight even though I’m eating well and exercising?”
Dr Nithiyaa: Your body is changing, not failing you. Hormonal changes can influence muscle mass, metabolism, insulin sensitivity and fat distribution. I encourage women to focus not just on the number on the weighing scale, but on building muscle, eating enough protein, managing stress, sleeping well and supporting metabolic health.
“Can we actually age better instead of just accepting these changes?”
Dr Nithiyaa: Absolutely. This is something I feel very strongly about. Menopause is not the end of feeling good, looking good or living well. I believe in combining evidence-based medicine with nutrition, exercise, sleep, stress management and personalised longevity strategies. My goal is to help women understand their bodies and feel empowered to take charge of their health.
